Three years ago, my husband and I came across a fixer in Sea Cliff and I knew we had to buy it from the moment we entered. We fell in love with this idyllic neighborhood for many reasons. The vistas, quietness, family friendliness (our daughters can walk to school) and can I say the ‘suburban’ feeling still captivates me. When we moved in we were welcomed with open arms by our neighbors (cookies, flowers & notes), and we have made many friends in the neighborhood. Living between two National Parks has been great for the health of our family as hiking the Lands End trail has become a weekend family tradition. The views of the Bay are stunning, and I’ve become more familiar with the tasteful mix of Mediterranean, Spanish Colonial, Georgian, Modern and other styles of architecture while being pulled around the neighborhood on evening walks by our golden retriever.
My husband was probably the most hesitant about the move because of its distance to downtown and the limited restaurants and coffee shops. Fortunately, ride sharing companies and new restaurants opening up have mitigated those concerns, and the peaceful quality of the neighborhood has changed his perspective.
Even before we moved, I noticed an increase in interest in Sea Cliff among my clients. On several occasions my clients purchased a home in Sea Cliff when the neighborhood was not part of their consideration set, just because they fell in love on their first visit. So I wasn’t surprised to learn recently that with an average of 27.5 days, Sea Cliff homes have the fewest days on market in town. (Source: Trulia, 12-month rolling)
